The Cerebral Catalyst

The man lying in the road talking to his own shadow might be mistaken for our leader. Like our leader he has two legs and two arms. Also like our leader he is both subject and object of his own fantasy. Once the story has been written, there is little we can do to change it. On the map there are indications of structures which do not exist — what is called the bog of imagination. So we are marched into the same room day after day and told the same thing. At least we have become reasonably skillful at appearing to inhabit our bodies. The problem is sequence; when seen all at once, the structure disappears completely.
