& my choices,
the possibility of something
so cliché as to
be wed by Elvis
in Vegas,
or living in
your space,
your world,
miles away from
every
other
truth I know
.
We were wild,
free,
full of verse
& promise
silvered,
unified to
one road,
a path,
unchosen,
unseen
but felt
.
We were led
by heart
by thread
by Kismet
or some random
alignment
of Pluto
& Jupiter
.
We were waiting
for our paths to cross
like Frost,
less traveled,
but
converging
to
one.
