CNN warns:
"Feathered terrorists have declared jihad on our way of life.
These Asian avians are even as we speak
committing themselves to mass genocide,
allowing themselves to die by the millions
for the chance to infect a handful of human beings.
With fanatical zeal they believe their H5N1 bioweapon
will mutate into a strain that will wipe the earth free of humanity."

Don't believe the lies!
Open your eyes and see the world as it truly is!

Sure, it's easy to believe, given the past.
The chimpanzees gave us Ebola, a ghastly way to die.
Mosquitoes have been trying to kill us for millennia,
from Malaria to the dreaded West Nile
(We should send scouts to Egypt to see if any survived).
And don't forget the Killer Bees
or the gophers whose burrows exist only to break human ankles.

But the birds are different.
They offer enlightenment.
If man would but bend the Ear to the Beak
he might hear the words from one platonic form to another,
"Life is hard, full of suffering and sorrow is everywhere,
but do not let that stand in the way of having a good time.
Sing whatever song you sing, but sing it out loud, proudly.
Feel the sun on your back and the wind in your feathers
and know that you are the best, the only you that you can be!"

H5N1 is a love letter to the human race.
How many times in both our histories has a man gazed at a bird
and thought, "If only you could give me wings
that I could soar freely among the heavens!"
Today, the birds lay a gift at our feet.
Our choices are two, but the results the same;
accept enlightenment and let your spirit soar,
or become an angel and soar on the wings you wanted so in life.
