Alone
by Luis Cuauhtemoc Berriozabal
He stood
all alone.
The stars
in the heavens
spelled out
his name.
He could
not read it
because
he refused to
believe what
they wrote.
He did
not want to
be made
a fuss about.
He stood
alone.
That's all
he really
wanted.
He reached out to
the stars
and asked
them to
erase his
name, to
find someone else
to write
about.
